On 25th June, 1916, the 2nd Coldstream Guards of 1 Guards Brigade, Guards Division, moved into trenches at Ypres where they remained until relieved on 28th June. On 27th June there was a heavy artillery bombardment by both sides during which Ronald Spinney was wounded. He died from his wounds on 2nd July. |
